Digital devices for soil compaction measurement
FIELD-M and FIELD-M PRO Soil Compaction Testers (Penetrometers) are modern electronic devices for field soil compaction measurements according to ASAE S313.3 standard.
By using FIELD-M Series Soil Compaction Tester you easily find out if soil compaction problem exists on your field and determine the depth of this compaction (so called "plow pan").
Measurement process is fully automated. The user only needs to install the desired tip type, press start button and slowly insert the tester into the soil. Sensors of the device will automatically log the applied pressure every 2,5 cm (1 inch).
Measured values (depth and pressure) are displayed on a color screen.
Compaction tester's pressure scale consists of 3 ranges:
- 0-14 kg/cm2 (0-200 psi) - green - good growing conditions;
- 14-21 kg/cm2 (200-300 psi) - yellow - fair growing conditions;
- above 21 kg/cm2 (above 300 psi) - red - poor growing conditions (plow pan).
Measurement results in a form of table and plot are displayed on a screen after the measurement is finished .
The user can save the measurement results and view them on the device display.
